I love "crusing". In fall of 2001 my wife Renate and I went on our first cruise with a group from of about 150 people from our church from Tampa to Cozumel. It was an older and smaller ship, but we loved it. We just completed our 45th cruise in 23 years.
I want to provide you with a great overview about cruises, cruise ships, cruise lines, itineries, etc. This information is based on my personal experience, I am a beef-eater, who loves to eat great food and lots of it, loves wine, travel, and of course, my wife and family.
If you do not agree with my opinion about these ships and destinations, please let me know and if I believe that the information is valuable, I will add your information to these pages.
Is it worth to pay more for Luxury Cruise Lines (Seabourn, Regent, etc) or the "Ship on the Ship" on MSC (Yacht Club), Celebrity (Retreat), Princess (Sanctuary), Cunard (Princess and Queens Grill), or Norwegian (Haven}?
Yes, it is more expensive, but the difference is like sitting in the back of a plane compared to a flat-bed business class flight.
Separate restaurant, lounge, pool area or sun terrace with plenty of lounge chairs (usually nicely upholstered). My wife and I cruised on Seabourn, Regent, MSC Yacht Club, and the Celebrity retreat. I plan to write an article about that soon. We plan to
try also Cunard's Grill Suits and NCL's Haven, but as the prices are higher than other cabins, we have to save for it or wait for a nice special.
